Early Morning Update

Since I've done a lot of talking about my personal heart repairs, I think it's time I update you on typical daily life around the Selin house. Not that heart issues aren't typical, but I'm talking about the 'other' new things happening around here.
Jon is still working at his job, and it's steady, PTL! We are very thankful. There were a few rough patches where the company decided to do some cut backs. There were many people laid off (you can pray they'll find jobs if it comes to mind), but not one person from Jon's department took a hit. Jon said it reminded him of Psalm 91 (I won't write it out, its a little long for that). Even in the midst of this laying off he was given a large raise! We are thankful he has found favor with his employers. Jon also had the pleasure of rewarding himself with an early Christmas present. A large...HUGE... screen TV. He was very (very) excited and almost had a hard time walking out of the store with it.

Obviously it wasn't too hard...

I think he even enjoyed setting it up...he's a man who loves his technology.

Here is the finished product!

Anyway...

Levi has been talking so much lately. He now keeps us up every morning. As soon as he's awake for the day he just chats away. Well, it's actually more like screamo-chat. But, whatever. It's very sweet and can be extremely funny when we're not trying to get sleep. Levi is doing a great job falling asleep on his own these days. We're really proud of him! He has also started to put himself on his knees as if he were to begin crawling. His arms are the only part of his body that don't cooperate. He looks pretty silly as he wiggles around with his tushy in the air. I've now officially taken out all his 6 month clothing! He is wearing some 12 month pajama pants, too. He is very tall for his age- I think. He'll be just like his daddy! He is not yet enjoying our new big TV.

As for myself, I got my first official immunization (other than the tetanus booster, without pertussis) today. I have been feeling commonly miserable with aches, pains, grogginess, hoarse throat, and a damaged ego to boot. No, the ego part isn't so bad, but I'll admit, I was pretty proud to not have had immunizations since I was 3 months old. Since some of you may be curious I'll give you a 10 word history. I had anaphlactic shock as a baby from pertussis. Okay, 9 words. But from that point on my mom chose not to vaccinate me, and I'm okay with that. Now if I were to be given the Tdap immunization (tetanus + pertussis) I essentially could die. So that has been some of my reason for filling out objection forms for school and work. The reason for giving in this time was that the clinical sites for school demanded I have them or I would forfeit the clinicals. Tough. But, I did praying and research and in the end had peace about it. Speaking of school, things are rolling along nicely. All I have to do now is wait for class to start, buy my books and pay more tuition. For those of you interested I have classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I'm starting to look forward to it!
