Translation: German Noodles
I've been asked what Spaetzle tastes like and I am unsure about how to address this. It has the texture of a dumpling (like what your mom might put into chicken soup), but is much smaller in size. It has whatever flavor you'd like to put into it, but like all scandi-ho-vian foods, not much kickin' spice. It tastes like a gormet noodle. That is the best way for me to describe it. It is much thicker, bumpier (though, I don't know if this is just because as an american I can't figure out how to make the Spaetzle maker work or what), and a little bit "breadier". I'm sure none of that made sense, so you'll have to either void your imagination on the topic and just come over for dinner, or think of all things thick, bumpy, and bread-y. There will be pictures!
