Much to my surprise, I realized today how many thank you's I forgot to write! I'm slightly embarassed. To cover my sorry little conscious, we did move in the process and have an incredibly busy summer. However, I realized I made two lists, one for the actual presents and one for the people who gave money. I only completed one of them! Grrrr. Well, it is off to writing thank-you's for me. I learn how to be more organized as the monthes rapidly run ahead of me. I can't believe Jon and I have been married almost 6 months! For those of you who thought we'd have a baby in the first 10 months, ha!
As I think back on the past summer and fall, I'm amazed at what we've accomplished, but, how little it seems we've not. We've gone camping a few times, been to several weddings, started school, moved, and adjusted to a new job schedule. Doesn't seem like much, but the days in between our "big" events are full of the joys of daily life. Much having to do with packing, un-packing, and packing again so that later we might un-pack. I've been learning how to cook (which gains me the complements labeling me as a cook better than his mom on a few dishes- that is my kitchen medal of honor), learning how to be creative without the creative tools needed, stick to a budget, and so much more.
For us, this past 6 months have been full of life. How grand is that? I was commenting to a friend how a person does not simply become wife or husband with the snap of a finger once they say "I do." Though, technically you are now man and wife, I believe the term and name is a growing one that at the alter is not fully come to bloom. It takes time to learn to be what God defines as those two roles. Thus, I am learning everyday what it means to be the wife of Jon Selin . To take on those blessings and tasks; the mindset and live in it to the fullest. What an amazing privalage and probably one of the greatest professions out there.
