All in the same thought I feel swept away and captured, and yet not at all entitled to write this entry. But, I've been captured and spoken to. I've been told who I am and who I love. I've been given a sight that is far too beautiful to behold. I've been drawn in with unspeakable power into an understanding.
The love is one that can only be expressed in the original script... for nothing else will do justice to every ounce of what I pray you will understand.
In the best words possible, Jesus the bridegroom has spoken to us,
"How beautiful you are my darling. Oh, how beautiful!
All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you.
You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes...
How delightful is your love, my sister my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine,"
He speaks to us in the most intimate of ways. He calls us sister - an understanding, a knowledge of who we are. He has known us from the beginning of our lives. Next he calls us bride. Bride. That alone communicates an immense desire. One of intimacy, of desperation of affection, of commitment to us, an intention.
And, all I can do is love him back. I am swept away by His affection of a pure burning love. There can't be any denying it. He says he loves me. He uses the Song of Solomon to bring to light his passion towards us, his creation. He is carried by his emotion. Although he be a God of order and intense justice, his is moved by our gaze at him. He is moved within the very core of who he is by the very thing he created. Scripture says we are created in the image of God, and God is love... we were created in the image of love itself. His heart is carried away by "one glance of your eyes"
He says " my dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the moutainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely."
