{These are the icicles off my parent's roof. The snow melted on the tin roof and slid down and made some really stunning pictures against the sunset.}
Okay, updating starts now. :)
Where the heck did the first six days of March go?! I'm already at midterms in school with Spring break happening next week! Yikes. I guess we'll just have to savor the days, and the last suspected snowfall, which the weather guru's are calling the "Typical March Snow"... whatever that means. It was pretty neat last night when light and fluffy flakes came gliding down.
Speaking of Midterms: Mine went well. We actually don't have a midterm per say, but rather three separate tests throughout the semester with a cumulative final in May. However, our second test did fall last week. I was very happy to receive news of and A and B on both tests. Hooray!
On that note, school is going well. I've been enjoying a slowed pace. Relationships with new classmates are improving and I am still able to keep in contact with my previous peers.
Jon and I are gearing up to do a cycling marathon in May called the Ironman. We've really enjoyed "nerding out" over cycling. Its become a hobby if you will. Since the Ironman is less than two months away, we will be kicking into higher gear to start training. P90X, stationary cycling, and some spring rides will have to do the trick. Along with our cycling, we've also started to enjoy rock climbing. We've only gone once so far indoors at REI, but we loved it. Since we purchased a membership we may go climbing as many times as we like. Yay!
Levi just hurdled another round of teething. This time his suffering was rewarded with four...(ahem)..FOUR teeth! They happened to be his "eye" teeth and "stomach" teeth. I had no clue about these names, until my MIL informed me as to their meaning. Over the past week, Levi did the whole drooling, fever, runny nose, teething thing in addition to what I thought was a sinus infection and the stomach bug. Ha! Little did I know that the cakey,runny, goopy eyes are from those darn upper canines and the pukey, sicky, feeling is from those lower teeth. Good grief. At least he got all the symptoms out of the way in one fell swoop. Way to go, Buddy!
Pets. Yes, we have more than a few. The dogs are getting big. But, not so big as their mom whom I saw yesterday. She is ... HUGE!! Ah, well. We've also decided to change "Ranger's" name. Something about naming your own pet makes them yours. He has not made himself so much ours as Apollo has, so the naming has commenced for a second time. So far we've thought of Hector (Greek hero), Zeus (following the Greek god idea), Helo, Rocky, Duke, Buck, Major, Sarge, Knicklebrick, Trumpkin, Kody, Kodiac, Bear, Bjorn (pr. "Bay-orn"), and Cyan. The one's that stuck the most were Bear, Major and Sarge. Jon really liked Hector... but man, that's just not an attractive name... at all. So, we're still thinking.
On another note, our female feline is due at any moment. We don't know how many kittens to expect... but I'm hoping for two. Bindi (the mama) and Buzz were the only two of their litter, so maybe genetics will be in my favor? Anyone want a cat?
