MS 150 Post:3

Levi spent a great deal of time in his jogger (thanks Grandma and Grandpa K!). The night we spent at the Casino got to be very cold and wet. So, he sat while we worked to keep ourselves dry. We tried to put up our tent underneath the RMS tent to give it a chance to dry out while it was raining. No luck. The tent we were using was from my parents. I'm not sure where they got it, but it was old and tissue paper thin.
So.... we made another 26 mile run to Walmart to find a rain-worthy tent. We found a small 4 person tent for $30 and slept dry and cozy. Jon was an aching man from the ride so he joined a few others in line for a massage. With some ibuprofen (which is always in demand since there are people with multiple sclerosis (MS) doing the ride) and prayer Jon slept like a rock and amazingly wasn't sore the next morning at all!
Here is a part of the group. Some of them were very seasoned riders and sped far ahead. Here Jon was riding with Gary (L) and Rod (R). Gary is the father of one of Jon's co-workers, Ben (not pictured as he finished each day in 4 hours or less). We named Gary honorary grandpa of the weekend since he just loved talking with Levi. :)
Posted by PicasaHere he is at the finish! With 150 miles under his belt he was again ready for a second massage, some ice cream, and a nap. I drove the whole way home. The finish line was down in White Bear Lake at Century College. KS95 was there announcing and cheering for each group of riders that came in. They were filtering in throughout the whole day. We've both decided to tackle the MS 150 next year together. My parents and sister and brother-in-law have expressed interest also. It should be really fun to do the ride as a family next year whether we ride for RMS (Jon's work), General Mills (Eric's work), Mary Kay (mine), or Forest Lake School District (my dad's work)!
