There are some amazing things about pregnancy. A while back I was told that pregnant women are more sensitive. This is not simply hormonal, but spiritual as well (don't get me wrong, I'm not more "enlightened" than the rest of the world), because we are created in the image of God. Since He is three-in-one, as in the Trinity, we are also three-in-one. Obviously, we are not "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit", but we have a spirit, a physical being, and what the "father" would be (soul?).This means, all of who he is, we are. He is love; we are made of love. He is light; we are made of light (in more than just a spiritual sense- go beyond that to the study of Physics and photons and electrons!! God is a phenomenon!). This takes a little thought to develop, but just as Mary (Jesus' mother) was filled with the Holy Spirit when she was pregnant with Jesus, so we are filled with the Holy Spirit (always, and) when pregnant. After Elizabeth, her cousin prophesied over her, she was given a song from the Lord. I believe that during the time of creating life within our bodies, the Lord gives us special revelation of himself and who he is. He draws us near to his heart because (of all times in our life) we need that comfort and revelation from the one who can truly comfort deeply. He alone can give us the security and confidence we need to carry and (in every sense of the word) bear a child.
As I was praying the other night for a love for Levi, one that can sustain him (and me) as long as he needs to be inside me, and beyond, the Lord gave me some revelation on this level. Since this is already a long blog, I will wait to write what I journaled the other night as the Lord revealed a glimpse of his love as a father, and his love as creation. I'm amazed at the profoundness of the Lord, and yet his deep simplicity. These snippets of part of who God is makes me desire to go back to my pen and paper everyday and wait on the Lord for more of who he is!
