The Beauty of the 'Springs

I'm sitting here at the computer in a groggy state, though it is 11:30am. For the first time in weeks, it feels like, I slept beyound my regular "awake-to-study" hours. Maybe it's just the atomosphere of Birchwood Springs where Jon and I have spent our glorious first mother's day. Keep in mind we've not been here the whole time, but darting in and out for church and other mother's day celebrations. But in a big log house with love and tenderness and the presence of God cultivated in every log and floor board, the wide open fields, dogs barking and currently listening to live worship on the piano it can be so easy to relax.

Yesterday we had a wonderful time rhomping around a park with Eva and Hope while Mom and Becca soaked up the sun. Eva's imagination is growing in to the fun point where she'll make up stories and one can finally play that the jungle-gym is the safe castle and Dad, Eric and Jon are the bad guys trying to get the Elven Princess, "Ar-o-win" and I her faithful coach guides her to places where the bad guys can't get her (unsucessful many times as she's scooped up and tickled). Hope made us all laugh as she futally tried to climb ladders that are way too big for her little legs, but eagerly went all around the slides, tunnels and ladders that were less the span of her little torso.

Jon and I ended the day with a long conversation about how on earth we met and fell in love. Though we are wonderfully in love with the other there was no defining moment in our lives where we "fell" into love. We came and have often come to the conclusion love snuck up on us and hit us in the part of the brain you can't find, ie: the heart. Was there one definitive thing that attracted us to the other? Not really, but many personality and spiritual points that set the other far above the rest.

The beauty and gentleness of the conversation is what I fell asleep in and woke this morning.
