Numbers and Such

April 24th 1986 my husband came into this world! He's a mighty 23 and bed ridden with swollen/puffy cheeks. 45 minutes worth of damage will grant him about a 12 day recovery. Yes, Jon got his wisdom teeth out. The doctor said "happy birthday!" and handed him a prescription for vicaden. Happy birthday, indeed! I would have pictures, but the celebrity refused his birthday glamour shots (I was a little surprised).

With about 3.5 hours of sleep, we headed out the door at a bright 8:30am to take care of Jon's bane- his teeth. Thankfully the excruciating pain he'd been having earlier in the week had subsided, but I think he thought this trip might be a little un-necessary at such a early hour. Jon opted for some local anesthetic without laughing gas or being knocked completely out. What a pain tolerance he has! It did the trick though (and was cheaper) and about 25 minutes later emerged from the room talking like he was crazy or just numb. Per instructions we got home, put him to bed, changed the gauze and have been icing his face regularly.

He did mention he felt extreme relief when the doc pulled the cavity-ridden wisdom tooth. All the pressure heading up into his skull was gone and I'm majorly rejoicing and praising the Lord for that! This may not have been the birthday greeting he wanted, but he will always remember this birthday and be tooth pain free (for now).
