Merry Chri..Never Mind
I'm not a big fan of the cold, but I do love the winter holidays. Just for a change in the clothes I've been wearing, today I brought out my "holiday red" hi-necked (I hate the word "turtle-neck, it reminds me of clingy, weird shirts) shirt. As I saw myself in the miror I thought of last year's Christmas picture where I had previously worn this shirt. A couple days ago I was also in the festive mood and attempted to decorate the house with our Christmas stuff. After thinking about it I canceled the mission. Thanksgiving has not yet come I reminded myself. I resorted to painting our pumpkins outside with "Merry Christmas" and "Christ has come!" It was sleeting, so it all washed off. I guess I'm not supposed to bring out Christmas cheer just yet. However, after reading a friend's blog, I guess StarBucks has quickly caught on to the growing fad of decorating stores with Christmas apparell even before Halloween passed. They've put out red cups with the Starbucks logo (and probably other stuff- I didn't look too closely at the picture) C'mon guys! My friend lives in Texas no less...I don't think it's warm enough to snow down there. I've almost come to the point where I could skip Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas. But, spiritually speaking, that just won't do. I've got to be thankful first. Okay, I get it. As I'm writing this, my conscious is reminding me that I need to enjoy every day and not take on tomorrow yet. Well, then, if thats the case, please hold my Christmas cheer to a simmer so that I can take one day at a time, or it may go into a full blown boil- then what'll I do? Well, I guess this is my Happy Thanksgiving blog. There are many things for which I'm thankful, I've had a big year. I won't name them all yet- perhaps in two weeks. So, for now, I'll just stick to "Happy Holiday Season, everyone!"
