Tis The Season...

There is a calm that settles over a home when the small ones are tucked in, candles are burning and holiday music is playing on itunes. Along with those things, food is stewing, laundry is in progress and homework is mostly done (though, can it ever be "done"?). The snow has settled in a picturesque blanket over the town. What amazes me more is that it has stuck, even on the trees. I don't hear anyone complaining, and the we've all gotten used to winter driving.

Since the onset of the Christmas spirit, I've been more on top of things this year, though our house is still not decorated - the decorations are not even at our house! Presents are at the front of my mind. I'm trying to get a "head start" on gifts this year. I usually wait until the week before to frantically search every store. This time around, however, I've been scouring Craigslist. Amazingly I've found some good deals and the items I was hoping to get. One problem with that strategy: you can bring it home as soon as you find it. So, shopping is drug out over weeks. Ick. I like to have it done immediately. Is this a method of cultivating patience?

For now, though, I must ride out the last two and a half weeks of school and be a tenacious studier. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak a few breaks in there and start and finish the stockings I hope to make, and see and buy the presents I intend to give. Is it too much to hope for baking cookies too on top of the usual cleaning and caring for the house and all inside?

speaking of presents... I thought I'd let you know since you were asking about Eva when we were shopping. All Hope wants is dollhouse furniture to go with her new dollhouse. And, to be annoying, it has to be the Ryan's Room Brand. There. Sorry about the socially inapproriate comment and my demanding nature. :/
