Jake

....and this is Jake our purebred Autralian Shepherd. He's about 11 years old. He is Jon's dog and recently came to live with us after Christmas. He wasn't doing so well with the cold and was too lonely in the basement at the farm. So, after four baths and a haircut he was welcomed to the city. He does really well here. Recently, though, he took a little trip down mainstreet towards highway 65. I found him after someone called the vet number on his dog tags. He had made it a good 4 miles away from home. Silly dog. He hasn't left the yard on his own since. Though Jake is truly Jon's dog, he has become increasingly fond of following me all over the house and will stand between me and anyone he considers a threat. Jake is very loyal; not totally in love with Levi but has been known to growel at other dogs attempting to sniff the baby. We like our dog and will probably try to find another Australian Shepherd puppy someday that Jake can train up with the loyalty and obedience that he has.
