I suppose you could call this day many things. It has been said that yesterday was a very historic day. Well, that is true. This is a hard blog to begin, but the point of my writing is to post a letter that my friend Aubrey wrote while she was praying, well, more like grieving. I think it is really important for it to be read because it brings the focus of people back where it should be. On God. Many people are disturbed that the next president of the United States will be Obama. Some are thrilled. I will be honest- I did not vote for him on three reasons.
1. Abortion- he's not pro-life and has made the statement that he will pass legislation to legalize all things concerning pro-abortion.
2. Gay Marriage- wrong. God was very much against (just read the NT). For people to give themselves over to a depraved mind shows the signs of the times and that this nation is going down a path it shouldn't. I don't want a leader who will support this.
3. Socialism- it hasn't worked anywhere else. If we vote it in, and don't like it, we will have a tough time getting rid of it. Also, it creates laziness in people who don't want to work and want the government to pay for everything. I heard a call on the radio from a reporter who recorded a women showing massive amounts of enthusiasm because if Obama was elected she would no longer have to pay her mortgage and gas bill.... ok...who's going to pay it?
I did not write this blog to be a rant on Obama. Quite the opposite. I'm writing because though I think that we are in for a serious wake-up call, God has something bigger planned and his strategies are beyond our knowledge at times.
Here is the letter from my friend:
My heart is hurting right now. I haven't been able to stop crying, because the pain is so intense. My spirit is grieving and I continue to grow sick. Many of you will probably think the reason is because of our new president, BUT that is not the reason. In the past couple of hours I have seen Christians fall and make a big mistake. They are giving up hope and it's like they have stopped believing in God's faithfulness. I have heard many say negative things about Obama, but let me ask this question, DO you know with all certainty that this man was NOT chosen by God? I fear that so many have taken on the power of being God. As people spoke things and as I heard things concerning Christians and what they are saying and doing, the Lord began to speak to me concerning it. I could barely write it because of the tears that were falling, but I have done so. I would like to share with you what God has spoken to me. Oh my people, my heart hurts for you. You are seeing everything through a dirty glass, if you could only see what I see, if you could only see what I am going to do. What is more important to you, How you see things or MY HEART? Who should your focus be? Where should your heart be? How many of you really trust me? How many believe that I am faithful, powerful, and that I do what is best? Do not limit me. Do not put me in a box. Oh my nation, if you only knew what I have planned, and if you only knew the bigger picture. Do you really know my power? Do you really understand my ways and thoughts? Who do you trust in? And what god do you serve? My promises that I have spoken over you and over this nation will come to pass. You will fulfill your callings. Do not stop. Do not stop trusting me. Don’t give up hope. Don’t get side tracked. Don’t lose your focus. Don’t listen to the words of man, but listen to me. Seek me. Make me number one. Don’t let fear come in and steal your peace. Make me King of your nation. Choose me to be your President. I can and will use any man for my glory, and if you don’t know that or understand that, than read my words in the Bible. See the men I used. See what I did and my miracles. Oh my people, do you really know me or have you forgotten who I am already? I am watching to see how my people will handle the situation that you are faced with. Will you stay focused on me or will you let Satan side track you and take you away from me?Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I beg you not to let Satan fool you and bring darkness to your way of thinking. Do not let your hope in God fail. Do not get side tracked by a man. Have you forgotten Xerxes, have you forgotten Cyrus, have you forgotten Esther and Jesus and the disciples…there are people all throughout the Bible that God used and His will was done whether they were sinners or His children. I am truly excited for the next four years. You might be asking why, and I would love to tell you why. Because in the next four years we will see God’s glory like never before. We have an amazing opportunity to see miracles happen. What if this will be God’s way to show the WORLD HIS power and HIS love and HIS glory? Who are we to judge God? But church we have a part to play in this. We have to continue to pray, we have to continue to believe and hope in God, and we need to continue to seek God like never before. This is our true test. We trusted God when we thought things were great, but I believe God wants to see what we do, how we act, what we say, and how we live when faced with a man whose heart we do not know. My brothers and sisters, we have an amazing opportunity to see God move like never before and I for one am placing my hope, trust, and faith in God. What are you going to do?
