Family Life

My writing world is full of uncreative titles. However, hopefully everything else is a little better. Today we're celebrating my niece's birthday! Hope Elizabeth Patenaude is now one. As my sister wrote in her blog, one year goes by fast. I remember being in India for Hope's sister, Eva's first birthday. I was so sad to not share in the glories of turning one. But, here I am and am thrilled to be saying "happy birthday, Hope!" with everyone else, just like the first time everyone saw her at the hospital.
As always Becca, my sister (whome I love dearly!), makes thrilling food (which can be used as a bribe to come- just so you know Becca), and we'll fit our family of seven around the other half of their kitchen to sing and wish Hopers a very happy birthday. So, anyway, I'll get to the reason I blogged today at all.
As Becca was in the office preparing Hope's birthday present, she told me " Erin, now you can come and look at my blog!!). She's THRILLED about blogging, and it's pretty funny to watch, because my anti-technology (except the computer) sister is now exploring the online journal world and overly (in a nice way) excited about her opportunities to blog. Back to the story. She proceeded to be cutting loose the doll from it's bindings and very nicely sliced her finger wide open and was gushing blood. The nurse (to-be) that I am said "eww!!!" and then grossly asked if I could help her with her wound. I wish I had a picture, because it's yucky and big. But, now my anti-technology, blogging-thrilled, brithday-mom, thumb-cripled, sister is now cooking with one hand!
I find it all pretty funny, but only because she seems in such a good mood about it.
Now the birthday girl is up from her nap, my husband is blogging with Becca's husband, mom's sleeping, dad is finished bandaging up Becca, and Eva is MIA for a nap.
Toodles~

to your credit, you did ask if you could help with my "wound". Thank goodness it is my thumb, otherwise HOW WOULD I BLOG???? j/k. Also, glad to know that you come for the food. Is that all??? And, the day when Jon and Eric are "blogging" in place of video games will be quite a day.

Love you :)

no i don't come just for the food :) but it's a side delight.
I don't think Jon will ever blog. He's doing dishes in our tiny little sink.
